Skippers Hill redevelopment brief
To fully redevelop a previously unused part of the school, building four new classrooms together with three new toilets.
We provided detailed documentation to support our fully costed tender.
Our tender was developed in line with the clients vision of using the new building to create a dedicated space for their senior pupils.
Managing The Project
Following consultation and reaching agreement with all parties, we commenced construction in April 2019.
We provided continual liason between the client and our contractors to ensure the smooth running of the project.
Logistically, the site was challenging with the new building completely cutting off machinery access as it was built. We overcame this obstacle through careful planning, ramp access and stockpiling 1st stage materials.
With a fixed deadline of 20 weeks we had to plan meticulously with careful project management to ensure the project was fully finished on time and budget.
An Outstanding Result
All classrooms are fitted with integrated air-conditioning, full network and Wifi linked to the existing school system together with the latest radio link fire alarm system.
I worked alongside MHBD from the early stages of procurement to completion of the project at Skippers Hill School. Martin and his team were exceptionally professional and understood the job very well, completing on time and on budget despite a raft of alterations and complications. I found them proactive and resourceful and would welcome any opportunity to work with them again.
